I recently watched the movie "The Woodsman", and it made me wonder...
If you fell in love with someone, and then discovered they found children attractive (but had never acted upon those desires, nor intended to) do you think you could stay with them?
With all due respect, yes I did.
By report them, I mean inform the police that this person has admitted to being a pedophile and is a danger to the community.
Look at the response - this is what some people would do, regardless of whether a crime has been committed. Some people might think of it as pre-emptive action.

I'm not saying that this is a sensible approach, only that some people will call the police on somebody who is a pedophile, regardless of whether or not they have committed a crime. Look at the results of the poll, IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! I'm not judging whether that is a rational or just response, I merely offered the option to the IIN community.
And you misconstrue that as some kind of explicit stance of support... Sad. Maybe you should stop to consider the words in front of you before you respond.

Yes, I got the impression that you were suggesting that it would be a reasonable course of action..... whether or not that was the case, could you imagine anyone actually doing such a thing? For starters, do you actually think the authorities would heed your words? SHOULD they? Why would they believe you? Even if they did believe you, what could they do about it?

I can imagine some people 'doing such a thing'. People have already done such a thing. People have even rounded up mobs and assaulted others on the basis of rumours that they're pedophiles.
I'm not here to agree or disagree with the options available, I'm here to see the response from the IIN community.
Do you mean find them attractive or actually raped one? If I did love someone who I later found out to be like that and they never touched anyone I would get them help. Hoping to prevent the disaster that would be soon to come. So you can help everyone and make them understand its not right.
I would get them professional help. If they however was the type of person who thought this kind of thing was funny and bragged about it I would report them. Sadly they cant do anything unless they commit the crime but I find bragging about crime very annoying. I might just beat the fuck out of them for the bloody fun of it.
I believe the protagonist of that film DID act on his desires, and he almost did it again towards the end with a girl whom he described as "not a common beauty". I loved that scene.
If I found out that my girlfriend secretly lusted after sweet-cheeked little kids, I don't think it would bother me much. I don't actually have a girlfriend, however.
