  • No way. Instant suicide.

  • I doubt going deaf would be a deal breaker, but going blind might put a bit of a damper on my present lifestyle; sailing in the West Indies.
    Blind = death for me.

  • Being blind would be horrible, I don't think I could handle that one.
    Being deaf, I could handle a bit better and probably still lead a normal life. But still horrible.

  • Deaf wouldn't be to bad but totally blind that would suck.

  • If I were blind I wouldn't be able to find the knife

  • Yes. There would be so many less things to worry about. And it would be cool to get increased other senses, and learn how to adapt.

    But surgeons are able to cure certain cases of blind/deafness now, so I'm not worried.

  • Deafness is one thing, especially if its partial, but blindness is definitely something that I can't deal with.

  • Either would suck but i'd rather be deaf. I would miss music but i'd still be able to feeeeel it man. Not sure how i'd handle going blind.

  • It would screw up my current career plans, but I could live like that.

  • I think I could cope just fine with going deaf. Going blind, on the other hand, would depress me greatly, because all of my hobbies/interests involve the sense of sight.

  • Human beings adapt to every situation, so yes I continue living. I would still be able to make love and eat chocolate ice-cream. However I think it's easier to live being deaf.

  • I doubt it would have little impact on my breathing or heartbeat, so yes.

  • That thought scares the hell out of me. I think it would be very hard to adapt to such a situation.

  • Probably; I actually don't know as I have never pondered the question, but I chose to be an optimist.
