Unless you live in some God-awful place, the authorities are not going to lock you up in kid-jail because your alcohol-abusing father says you're an obnoxious 13 year-old.

They could lock your father up on a child-endangerment charge if he's the only adult in the house, and he regularly gets so drunk that he's incapable. They could also lock him up if he physically assaults you.

The threat of juvenile hall is a bogey-man used by ignorant and inadequate parents.

No, you can't get sent to juvenile detention for disrespecting him or upsetting him. One of the reasons why he gets upset easily is because he's drinking too much. My dad gets upset when he drinks. I even told him, "If you didn't drink so much, you wouldn't be so ill-tempered all the time". He got mad, my mom got upset, and I was almost dead. I couldn't get sent to juvenile hall for saying that, but if he smacked me, I would call the cops and have him arrested for assault.

You could threaten him back saying that you'll claim that he abused you or something.

Seek legal counsel, or just behave yourself.

He can’t send you to juvie if all you did was upset him. You would have to commit another crime to end up there.

I would know because my mom used to tell me that all the time. When she tried sending me off to a juvenile detention center, they refused for that very reason.

It’s a dumb threat, and if he did call the cops to send you there, I’d imagine that they’d laugh their asses off at him. Just don’t do anything illegal, and you’ll be fine.

He's bluffing. Seriously, call him on his bluff. When the cops get there don't act all erratic and screaming though you gotta think smartly and calmly tell them he's just being a drunk asshole, or they'll believe his word over yours and its possible you'll get arrested if the cop is a dick.
