lsd and mushrooms arent meant to be a cure. there meant to help the patient deal with the depression, fear or anxiety that a termenal illness can give them.
Very true, but these are professionally controlled conditions, much different than the LSD or Mushrooms that you may have experienced that the OP is discussing. Still though, I do not think that at this point these drugs should be turned to at this point in time. Experiments that are conducted using these drugs should be used sparingly with a very small number of people chosen to them. Even with the Indians, it was not a free for with these kinds of drugs, maybe 1 person out of 20 would take them at the most. The vast majority would simply listen to the things the taker said. The same should be true in the world of science.
Could LSD taken by cancer researchers lead to breakthroughs?

I don't think giving a patient LSD or shrooms is a good idea if they have fear or anxiety.
