Could i keep wild squirrels as pets?

So I was looking on a way to get rid of squirrels when a bright idea formed in my head. What if I keep wild squirrels as pets? I would probably just put a live trap outside and wait to catch one and try taking it. Could I do that? Or another idea I got was to catch 2 squirrels, one male and one female. I would first catch them and put them in an enclosed area in my home until they would mate. I would then release the male and keep the female until she gives birth. I would let her raise the baby squirrel born in captivity until it stopped drinking milk. Then I would release the mom and keep the baby to keep it. This way it wouldn't have any wild animal diseases or ticks or fleas because it was born in a house. I would get it used to me and then it would be my pet. That's what I really wanna do soon. I don't care if it's illegal tho. But is it okay if I do it if I'm still releasing the squirrels I caught? Keeping the baby really wouldn't matter because it would have never seen freedom in the first place. Is it normal and could I attempt such a thing because it seems basic and easy as that. Or should I just drop the whole idea?

I highly recommend you not do that. All the squirrels you might have seen all Disney with people are babies. When a squirrel matures, it becomes a demon full of hormones and it will become incredibly aggressive. You can't tame a wild animal even if it has never seen the outside world, domestic animals are domestic through hundreds of generations of specific breeding to get the aggression out of, say, wolves. That's how we have dogs.

Besides, locking two wild squirrels together in a room will just end up in both of them dead, either they kill each other or themselves with stress and not eating. There is zero chance that they mate.

If you really want a pet Id suggest getting something else that you can educate yourself in taking care of.

It could even be a pet that scares off the squirrels if you want to get rid of them.
