I think what we need to do is define what YOU would consider 'happiness' to be. Not the kind of happiness that may be portrayed in the media, or in advertisements or even what your friends may consider happiness.
So what would have to happen for you to be considered happy with your life?
The next step would be to evaluate your living situation. Everyone wants to be doing things they want 24/7, but that is (realistically) not the case; so job, living situation and schooling (if applicable) all play a factor.
After you've thought about both things I mentioned, what will you do to try and be happy?
In my situation, I was an (almost) carbon copy of what your life was like. Still am, in some ways. However, it's what you want to do in life that will bring you happiness. In my situation, I had tried the college thing for a year- and then subsequently moved on from that to work menial jobs for a few years. Nothing too happy with that seeing as I worked just to support myself. I was missing something- such as importance and direction. I needed something that would propel me to move forward and figure out what I wanted to do to A) make my living situation better, and B) ultimately be happy.
Honestly, I felt that way where I honestly was just sick of working and felt it was a dead-end for me in my life. So I suggest you take a look and review your life and deep down inside, figure out what will make you happy. Maybe it's going to school to get a degree in something you love? Or perhaps moving to a new location? Meeting new people?
Anyways, I know how you feel and I hope this bit of advice helped. Cheers!
