Confusion over shipping on ebay

If my item sells on Ebay, I plan to take it to the local post office for shipment, but that's where my query starts.

If the buyer pays for shipping on Ebay, will the post office be aware of that, or will they still ask me for money to ship the package?

Alternately, can I pay for shipping at the post office, and then list my item as free shipping on Ebay?

Also, I'm not sure exactly what kind of shipping options to choose when asked on Ebay. I wish I could keep that to myself until I find out exactly what will happen at the USPS post office.

Do I have to use a USPS box, or can I use my own? The package is 13.5 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 8 inches in height.

    The post office doesn’t know someone payed for shipping on your own item. Buyer payed the extra for you to pay the shipping so it was no extra charge for you to do so.

    I don’t think you can give the office some money ahead of time for shipping I think it’s more of a when you bring it in to be sent out then you pay type thing. When you post up free shipping it means for the buyer they don’t have to pay the extra for shipping but you would still need to. Either way someones gotta pay for it. If you wanna say free shipping just make sure you’re okay with the list price being as much as you want out of it + price to ship it. I feel like free shipping listed does catch more attention on the item but can also depend on the price in general.

    If I were you I’d go to the post office and find out how much something will be to ship and I think they go by weight. Then whatever amount it is then say that much extra for shipping.

    FYI I’ve never sold something on ebay but just telling you what I do know about it.

        You’re welcome and thanks. Idk 100% how it all works but I have sent out packages before. Thing that would confuse me most is getting payed through like paypal and stuff. Or even how you get a tracking number for your buyers. I’ve thought of posting stuff up before tho so I can stop meeting creeps face to face.
