You are so not alone. I am currently doing the community college route and tbh I think I did the right thing. I have many friends who went straight to UNI and most (I really mean this) have dropped out due to financial or academic problems. I think they partied a little too much or took too many loans out and now they're working full-time jobs trying to pay the debts off with NO DEGREE. I, on the other hand, have zero debt and have spent 3 years at a community college with my transfer guaranteed to a UC. As a transfer I will have 2 year left and my degree with be just as valuable as a 4 year students. As long as you stick with a plan and transfer out of CC, you will not regret your decision. Trust me, your wallet will thank you too.
Btw, you say you're feeling a bit sad. Use these emotions to drive you to a goal. You will get there faster because you'll have the incentive of proving to everyone out there that you knew what your were doing all along.
