  • It's a just a holiday. It's not some Christian conspiracy to convert "heretics destined for hell" to good, God fearing people.
I cannot tell if you are trolling.

    • You are incorrect. It is not a holy day. There are no important religious figures that were born or died on Dec. 25th. There were several religious or religiously based events on this day, but none of them had much to do with Jesus of Nazareth, except that some of them might have believed in his teachings, but that these would have already been twisted and corrupted.
It is a conspiracy by some corporations to make people spend money on sometimes useless items and products that are often detrimental to a persons health and / or the health of the planet.
It is also a conspiracy by some religious organizations to make people believe in things that are simply not true.
Do you actually believe that Jesus of Nazareth will rise from the dead, and will assume the throne as King of the Roman Province of Judaea, smeared in oil? Because that is what you just said.
Who is this deity that you speak of?
Where exactly is this netherworld that you speak of?

Post Script: I am neither a "troll", nor am I "trolling". These are all very important and pertinent issues. Please answer the questions that I have asked.

      • No I don't believe that because I am not Christian.
I just said it was a holiday. I did not mention anything about Jesus rising in oil and assuming the throne of anything. The deity YOU speak of is Jesus H. Christ.
I don't know where the netherworld is. Maybe you can ask God when you die.

I did not mention anywhere in my post that it was a "holy day". It's just a holiday, incorrect or not, that has been ingrained into our culture that is now tradition.

        • So you continue to support things you don't believe in, by repeating these willy-nilly, without understanding what they mean. At the same time, you are dividing yourself from some religious people and dividing them from other people who are religious or who are not religious.

Why are you creating division in society?

          Holiday means Holy Day.
          Holiday = Holy Day, understand?
Please use different terminology, especially if you don't believe in it (eg. vacation, celebration, etc,)
But that IS what you just said, and you repeated it again and again, and twisted, corrupted and distorted it further. Jesus of Nazareth (more properly, Jesua) did not have a middle name or surname. Many people would find your language offensive. Why are you offending people?
Jesus of Nazareth was a real person, and not a deity. I said no such thing.
You did mention Jesus of Nazareth rising from the dead, and becoming a King of the Roman Province of Judaea, smeared in oil, because that is what the surname that you affixed to him means.
Once again, you have used the generic Anglo-Germanic term for a deity. You did not answer my question. Who or what is this deity that you speak of?
I, at no time, stated that I believe or disbelieve in this deity. Please do not draw incorrect conclusions, of things that you do not know.

          • I may not believe in Christianity, but I do believe in the right of religious freedom. I am not creating a division in society. I doubt that what I said on a small website like this will cause large changes in society. If you are trying to "heal" those divisions (that I have yet to see) caused by ONE holiday, I think you should get off of this website and actually start healing society.

My "Jesus H. Christ" remark was a joke, but as charli.m said, "I forgot you don't have a sense of humor."

            • You ARE creating divisions in society. You just did it again.
You have these thoughts, ideas or concepts in your mind (brain). You then used your brain to physically input the keys on your computer, to convey to the world, these thoughts, ideas or concepts.
You then told the world, that you do not believe in many of the things that many might believe in. You have now divided yourself from them. Put yourself in the place of someone who does believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth (who was a real person). You just made yourself a bunch of enemies, who might not believe anything else you say.
You have also divided people who believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth from people who have other religious beliefs or people who are not religious.

Why are you creating divisions in society?

If you are truthful (which I highly doubt), that you are not religious, or might have other religious beliefs, then why do you keep spreading religious ideas around , that you don't believe in?
You make excuses, and blame everyone but yourself, for these divisions. You make further excuses, that it won't make any difference on a small website like this. You're absolutely incorrect, I had asked this same question, on a different small website, frequented by religious extreme radicals. I watched the news. The amount of suicide bombings and attacks on others, religious rhetoric, etc,, quickly diminished.
"Rights", should not be automatically granted to everyone. "Rights", should be earned through responsible behaviour.
Your behaviour is irresponsible and reprehensible, unbefitting of a Knight. I, therefore, diminish your rights, and hear not your foolish words. I, also ask others to do the same.
And you thought that I didn't have a sense of humour?

                Wow. Just wow.

                Delusions of grandeur, anyone?

If you're not trolling, then you are quite a scary person, dude.

          • How does it totally fail to come to your attention that YOU are the one creating these so called 'divisions in society', at least on this site?

They have their beliefs, you have yours. You let them believe in their imaginary friends, they'll let you believe in yours.

You're either trolling or a total fruitcake. Or both.

            • Now you are accusing me of creating divisions in society, when I am trying to do the opposite, heal the divisions in society that exist (for good reason).
How do you know that their imaginary friends are imaginary? Perhaps they are real, but they misunderstand them.
Please stop using the "trolling" word. It is neither polite, nor courteous.
Can you please try to carry on a normal conversation, without resorting to name-calling.
Your fruitcake remark made me hungry.

              • Yes, I am being deliberately rude. I cannot take you seriously.

I was stupid to make a joke in response to your post in the first place. I forgot you don't seem to have a sense of humour.
