In the Bible, there are multiple instances where Jesus tells random people that he will return WITHIN their lifetimes (Matthew 16:28 for example). Seeing as it's more than 2,000 years ago, I think those people are all dead. Where is Jesus, Christians?

Could be a translation thing as well as being taken out of context due to it being hard to understand anything in the bible because of how it was written
I imagine god sees earth as an RTS game. This is a relatively peaceful era with only a slight decline in believers. If I was god I wouldnt feel pressed to send another jesus. Maybe he has the internet.
If theres a god I dont think hes too worried about little ol me and you. Maybe he might do something for a president or someone more important. Like maybe when hitler was doing shit he reluctantly intervened one time and hasnt since. He got more important shit doesnt really care about us
Honestly I would be the same in gods position. Cant imagine the problems god must be dealing with, idk rebellion against him seems popular so hes probably putting out that fire first on another plane of existence.
He would be busy. He probably focuses on one thing at a time. The important shit. Someones cancer diagnosis isnt that important to him and to him he knows what happens after death too so he has a disconnect to the fear. Terrible example but kind of like a drug dealer knowing he is gonna meet up with a customer in a few hours but wont answer or tell the costumer. its that disconnect where he knows they'll be alright so he doesnt care if they dont know. He doesnt think of the fear theyll have of withdrawals or whatever.
God has a lot of shit on his plate. All I can assume is that when the soul judgement is made he takes into consideration the actions people took because of said shit on their plate.
I'm pretty optimistic about my chances of getting into heaven with that philosophy of life. Not speaking for god of course but hes omnicisnent so I'm not going to lie to him.

The choice between good and evil is simply a choice. Thankfully since most of us live in a society the good aspects are reinforced by laws as well as punishments for evil. The rest of the mundane choices in life are thankfully neutral.
If the bible is true then according to the wording in those verses, the rapture already happened & jesus isn't coming back.
