I a little too well traveled to be as ignorant of history as you imply. However, I'll be the first to admit I have very little knowledge of the christian history. I have not, nor will I ever, read the bible.
Dude, it's a saying, not a critique on the poor of history. Haven't you ever heard it before? Fuck so and so AND the horse he rode in on. Anyway I'm fine with changing it to an ass. But then one of those sicko regulars would go off on fucking asses and we'd have to work through his/her deep seated homophobic issues, and this thread would go on forever.
It'd be impossible to know if you believe in God/The Bible if you've not read it. I've read the Qur'an. Do you see my point? Reading it does not make me a Muslim, but if I didn't read it, I'd never know if I believe in it. I'm just saying that I think you should read the Bible before you assume it is false, although at this point, I doubt it'd change your mind.
