Christians and being chaste/staying away from masturbation or porn

So, I'm Christian and I don't know what to do about masturbation- and I have acted upon my urges and it feels a little weird, afterwards. Is masturbation and pornography actually bad to the Christian religion? Some say it is, while others say it's just how our bodies are naturally- most people can't control it. I feel like I want to be chaste, but I also feel my sexual urges need to be relieved.

I think "sin" may be too strong of a word to use...

        Yes, I did. But the opportunity for some good old, good natured religion bashing was too good to miss, and varients of this question have been asked so often that I thought that making a joke as opposed to a serious answer wouldn't be very damaging.

          Lol, I know you were joking (at least some of it)- but not all of us Christians look for biblical answers, lol ^_^ I actually look down on those who do and take it out of context &gt;_&lt;.

      What I mean is when people say, "it's in the bible" when it's clearly not or they took it out of context. By reasonable, I didn't necessarily mean use the bible...

    As a Christian, I believe that pleasuring yourself is ok. Especially if you are abstaining (LIKE MYSELF) it isn't easy. And although I am not a virgin. I have been abstaining close to half a year now and see nothing wrong with masturbation. HOWEVER...if I begin to commit lust in my heart than that's where I'd see it as wrong and I'd have to ask for forgiveness. Just enjoy yourself...try to leave lust out of it.

    Masturbation, sex, etc. etc. are all fine. A kick in the face to anyone who says otherwise. Don't let anyone/anything tell you to deny your natural urges, it's just ridiculous. You'll end up strung out and frustrated.

    I totally think its NOT okay to look at porn. I think it is a sin because we should, and I wish people would, keep their sexual moments to their self. You really should not be going around posting photos of what you did last night or something like that. People need to realize that they cant be forced to post a sexual photo, they could have fought back. I also think it is a sin because on porn websites or chatrooms they treat more overweighted people like dirt. They make up stupid names for them because in porn, porn has a certain "type". They ruin marriages because most women sometimes men, dont think their partner does it as good as the "professionals". Plus most of the time that porn image is sewed in your brain until it falls apart(a couple years i'm guessing)!

    Have you considered that the tenets of the Christian religion have become warped and corrupted through the years? Not to satisfy your animal urges can lead to unacceptable sexual social behaviours.

    Proof of evolution is sex, we have sex to pass on our genes and our offspring is a mutated version of ourself. Sex is natural, Christians dont like pleasure, the masochists. If you feel bad about it repent later.

        Im sorry! That was misinterperated i meant it in a way that to suffer meant you are doing good and that sort of thing but never mind that, now. You shouldnt feel bad. My point i was trying to make was its a completly natural and an obviously safe way of relieving your sexual urges. Its not bad so please dont feel that way! Im sorry if you were offended by being called a masochist i did not mean it that way.

    Of course God loves everyone :). I know I'm not suppose to hate, but those people that spread hate and say they're religious... Gahhh, I want to punch them. Not only because of what they're saying but because they're using God as a fall cushion (oh, if God *supposedly* said it, it must be true)
