There's no reasoning with cats. You try to reason with them, and they just stare at you with their lifeless, patronising eyeballs for a few seconds, and then they just walk away! And then you're like, "D-DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON ME!", and they're like "MYAH!!". And then you're all "uffkJBPFJ!!!", and then they're all like "MYEAHHh!".
But it is what it is.
