Cat sticks tongue out when tired

Normal. Dogs and cats have no sweat glands like humans. They pant and stick their tongue out to release their body heat. If it sticks out for long, kitty must be dehydrated.

My cat does that all the time no matter what. It's one reason I like him, at time I like to check on him to see how long he has it out just a bit or about half way. It's even cuter when you catch him just sticking it out.

Okay thank you. It just seemed funny because after a long day of doing whatever it is cats do he would lay on my bed fall asleep wake back up and stick his tongue out ! and he would look so happy doing it too

My cat does that sometimes too.

The neighbour's cat does it as well. She thinks it's just him relaxing and that's where his tongue would naturally be if he let it loll.
