Cat dislocated her elbow or shoulder then she fixed it herself.

Hi, I heard my cat growling and hissing today so then I went to her and found her half of her body lying on the floor with her poor little arm twisted the other way round and so I screamed out of shock then she stopped growling, looked at me with worried eyes and rolled over then managed to unravel herself out of it. She walked downstairs as if nothing happened. I was so sad I didn't know what to do, do I treat it as an injured leg by making her rest even though there's no sign of damage? I guess it was a good thing that I screamed otherwise the vet would have had to pop it out.

Is It Normal?

  • Just kidding but I would just double check and take your cat to the vet to make sure everything looks good. poor baby

  • My cat fell off a banister once and dislocated his shoulder. He did the same thing. Rolled around screaming for a minute while i panicked. Then he kind of jerked, popped his own leg back in bed and walked away like nothing happened. He never seemed to have any negative effects from it.x

  • Take her to the vet just to be safe. If I had to guess, I'd say Kitty is double-jointed!

  • Animals are amazing. After the anesthesia wore off, my dog was running and jumping around like he didn't just have his nuts chopped off.

  • I dislocate my shoulders and pop them back in all the time. There is a certain way to roll the joint to pop it back in.
