Car friend
Is it normal to think of my car as a friend? I've owned it for 7 years, and it just seems like an old friend to me. I often talk to it. Is this normal?

Yeah, I feel the same about mine. She even has a name "Mery" from Maria. The car is a Mercedes, so I feel that Mery is a nice name. Anyway. She has never caused major problems. Only minor stuff. For about 7 years, I had to change a turbo hose, a lightbulb and now some A/C insulation. I just feel a bond with this car. I really feel bad if I have to go over a bad road.
And I hate leaving her at parking lots. I fear someone might break the star or damage the paint.
yeah its normal. i love my cars, i have a couple and they have different personalities. they have all looked after me and protected me and we have been through a lot together so i can understand the connection.
Yeah its okay to be such close friends but if you're female stay the hell away from the gear shift knob!
hahaha that last comment was brilliant. thats totally what everyone uses their car as. an then it becomes a hotel room for you when your parents kick you out for some stupid shit.
I left mine once for 4 months in the garage. Semester break, went home. When I came back, she was covered in dust and when I started the car, the radio started playing Axel Rudi Pell's "Broken Heart".
Should I consider it talking? Dunno, but it was a bit strange to hear that specific song at the verse when I started her. After I went to the car wash to clean my car. Went out, started cleaning it. When I got back in, radio starts playing Tina Turner "Simply the best".
Maybe she is trying to say something. XD
