I never understood why looks have anything to do with why someone would hire a person or not, but it has been proven that statistically, people who are considered more attractive are not only more likely to get hired, bit also get promoted at an astonishingly higher rate (as much as 33% faster).
I must admit, however, that my wife and i did hire a girl to work in our store who we thought would help attract customers because she had the qualifications and was outgoing and very pretty.
