Can you think of any fun things to do while queueing?

Recruit someone else from the queue. I find that just engaging random strangers is often the best way to find a partner in crime. If you can make them unwittingly so, then so much the better. The main point is that you take a dull activity and turn it into fun. You may even shorten the queue if you're quite clever. Try strapping some road flares to your chest and announce that you plan to make a final stand for your deity. That should get things moving nicely.
