You are always something's property. We are all cogs in a machine. Is there something wrong with that? I mean humans are shit useless without eachother. It's the collective of people that gets shit done, now I'm libertarian I belive people should be able to do whatever the fuck they want to do as long as it doesnt mess with someone else's freedoms. If i can tolerate or even like what the machine is doing what's the point in shrugging off responsibilities for that purpose.
