  • People with anorexia eat very little, but the mental illness is about the faulty perception anorexics have of their own body and their attitude towards food.

    The fact that you eat only one meal a day plus a snack does not mean you have anorexia; it just means that you don't eat in what's considered a normal pattern in our culture.

    If you're in the normal range of body weight for your height and you have obvious muscles, that suggests you're getting adequate nourishment from what food you do eat, and you just have low body fat so there's little padding on your muscles.

    If you don't hate to eat, if you don't obsessively calculate every calorie you consume, and if you don't hate the fat person you see every time you look in a mirror, then it's unlikely that you are anorexic.
