There's always been a wall between my father and I. I can't talk to him. He's very ignorant of who I am, he has no idea who I am. Maybe we have relationship problems because he is an alcoholic? INN?

    some men just can't connect. the alcohol probably makes everything worse.

    My dad and I can't connect either. My mom says it's because my dad never had sisters and idolized his mother too much to see her as human, so he has no idea what girls are like and tries to treat me like a guy (aka ignore my feelings).

    how you feel in the circumstances is entirely normal, I think. It must be very hard for you :( but keep trying, don't give up on your relationship yet.
