  • Art - Human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature.

Using that as the definition, anime does count as art. It's a different style, than realism, but if anime isn't art...does that mean cartoons, realism, or surrealism isn't art either?

Anime's just the Japanese way of saying animation, and no matter how you look at it; animation is a form of art. You draw, and you try to recreate what you see in life. That's why Manga-ka's go and study anatomy, or actually take art classes.

Besides, I personally disagree with your opinion, but you could disagree with mine. Plus, I can't take people who use 'terrible', 'horrible', 'dreadful', 'ghastly', or 'awful' seriously. I burst out into laughing, no matter what the story is about. Like, "It was terrible! I was shoved down, and I fell in the mud. I-it was just horrible!!" I wouldn't be able to hear that with a straight face.
