Can't do some aspects of work unless the work is inspiring/relevant ?

Is it normal that I cannot work unless I'm either inspired or see the relevance in what I'm doing as beneficial?

If I'm not inspired or see that a task has benefit, I'm stubborn. I will resist doing the task. No no, I'll NOT do the task. I'll find a better way to get something done.

Is that normal?

Answering my own post....
It's normal for the 'lazy' that want efficiency thus seek innovation to make life easier so we can get onto other more interesting pursuits.

Leisure is good, whatever you like to do.

I think my stubbornness is smart. However, I'm kind of amazed how so many people don't question whatever they do in their work. They just get on with it. How do they do that?

You couldn't be more wrong. The artist who sits at his easel waiting for inspiration to hit him, starves. He's got to force himself to sketch and accept it won't be perfection, and by forcing it out that's when the inspiration comes.

Maybe I should have said that too. No, not idleness. No no noooo. Gotta actively seek inspiration in an action-oriented way. Yes. Idea generation, all that. Yes.

      Good point.
