Can someone explain to me why when someone turns 25 they

Say "I'm so old now". Go on any social media and a 25 year old is saying they're officially old now and forget 30, 30 year olds say things like I'm basically dust now.. what is that? And they look like fetuses and all the 25 or 30 year old fetuses comment back and forth "my back hurts", "I know I'm old because I can barely walk", "I remember the days when I was 20, I wish I could go back to being young"

If 25 or 30 is old, what the hell is 50? 60?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Speaking from the far side of 60, I gotta tell you that you're all just punk kids.

Get the hell off my lawn, you hooligan!

I'll agree with Boojum, except I would probably strike up a conversation with anyone loitering on my lawn.

I've been called a lot worse...

and if someone is interpreting me like that... then I assure you that the conversation will not last long. Also, there have been a time or two in my life where I have told someone to get off of my property.

When I was 25, I noticed that all 71 year olds were not the same. Some of them thought quickly with surprising insight. They had athletic quickness, and good aerobic capacity. By comparing the healthy smart ones to the decrepit senile ones, I figured out what factors made a difference.

Now I am 71. I'm one of the healthy ones that still thinks fast. I can tell you that at age 25, you are smart enough to gather data and figure out how to slow the aging process like I did. If you want to age slowly and gracefully you can work smart to attain your goal. I did it.

Lol. Observational science works, and the answers are out there. Good luck.

    60+ = dinosaur
    40+ = cave dweller

I find it amusing 25 is old and anyone 30+ is considered ancient or over the hill or something.

That may seem to have some trueness if you live in a social media world.
If you live in a play pen or nursery it's hard to not see anyone who has aged out of your world as too old.

Funny how many 25 to 35 year olds if asked about; career goals, jobs, marriage, children, retirement goals, anything long term they'll answer with how young they are and they have not given much thought to a lot of those issues. "Only old people think about stuff like that"

So really what they are saying when they say 25 or 30 is old, is that is when your not a child any longer, or have finally gone through puberty, and have to accept some responsibility for their life.

That 'ugly looks' they get at 25 is the effects of realizing they have gotten to that point. It is no longer someone else's responsibility to feed, house, and take care of them.

As a member of the cave dweller/dinosaur club, I'm glad I got my 'ugly looks' about age 16.

I don't think i've seen a 25 year old do that. 30 Year olds, however, act like they're grandpas for some reason.

I turn 25 next week and even though I’m aware it’s objectively not old it still freaked me out a bit when I realised it was coming up. Any birthday that ends in 5 or 0 tends to make people assess their lives a bit and I personally made a list of everything I’ve achieved in my adult life to make myself feel better. People having milestone birthdays in 2021 will be hit especially hard as many of us feel we have “lost a year” and not achieved and experienced what we “should have” by this age.

Anyone my age with back pain either has a medial condition or seriously needs to work on their posture though.

Social media making people overly dramatic maybe?

    Or they’re just joking.

My back jokes are mostly just me poking fun at my scoliosis if it helps.

Around 25 is when you are starting to understand that time is flying by and you arent actually gonna be young forever.
Around 26 I felt this way and as corny as it sounds I looked into anti aging shit but now that I'm 31 I am passed that. When I get near 40 maybe I'll get bummed out again idk.

I'm 24 and felt this way since I was a teen. It's part of what made me depressed
