I think regardless of whether he hurts her or not, he is allowed to do anything in self-defense. He shouldn't try to hurt her, but if he has to to stop her hurting him then he can.

I think in our society men are not allowed to hurt women even in self defence. And this gives women a false sense of superiority and strength. Is a human really stronger than a Lion if the Lion will not bite?
