Burning paper

Since the very first time I ever mentally imagined a sheet of paper with a burnt hold in the middle of it, I've never been able to mentally picture a whole sheet. I can't do it, even when I clear my mind and concentrate real hard. Is this normal?

  • I kind of know what you mean. Try to clear your mind of anything not related to this. Then, focus on what you know a whole piece of paper to look like. Or, try to mentally fill in the gap of the hole.

  • I've tried that. I'm actually a middle school teacher, so I look at sheets of paper every day, but I still can't do it. Eh.

  • I've never had this problem, but why not try looking at a whole sheet of paper for awhile to get that in your mind?

  • Sane basic thing happens to me. I can't picture myself driving a car without it spinning out of control

  • Wow, I get what you mean, it is kind of hard... I managed to refocus my mind, though. I'm still able to imagine a whole sheet.

  • It's weird! I can't picture it to save my life. I'm glad to know someone else is out there, tho

  • I just submitted a story just like this! My image is me skating on a frozen lake but I keep falling in. I CANNOT picture someone skating without them falling in! I have never actually fallin into a frozen lake before and I've maybe skated 5 or 6 times in my life! Wierd huh
