It is normal. If you notice blood from anywhere will turn brown after a amount of time. So I assume it is the same thing. If you have a large amount of blood coming out for a number of days will some of it not get old? It is not to say it is from the wrong whole like this person has stated.
If it is constant you will still have some residue of blood left behind. This will mix the old blood and the new blood so some of it will be brown. It is not a big deal. The fact you are bleeding at all should be the scariest thing to go through but it sounds normal.
