Like everyone else is saying, you should just tell your mother and go to the doctor. The tampon excuse is great BC most girls with your type of hymen can't fit them in.
Also yeah, not a lot of guys like condoms. Have you guys tried to get thinner ones, or ones with special lubricant? Those may help.
