Go with the one you like, obviously. If your parents want to decide who you are with, they should leave you alone because it isn't their place. It's your life. If you want go with the one that sounds like a jerk then do. It is probably not a good choice, but it's your choice to make, not your parent's.
As a side note, this is why I wouldn't let my parents know about my social life. Because they'd get... involved *shivers*.
