Boss scheduled a meeting during eclipse, i want to quit

My boss, who hates me, scheduled a meeting for me and clients in a different country, which she will not attend because she "has plans" Our office has no windows so I'm missing out on a once in a lifetime event. She even told me I better not call in sick that day. She could have scheduled any other time but knew I was looking forward to it.

I've seen a few solar eclipses and was underwhelmed. Missing it is not going to change your life as much as losing your job would.

Your boss does sound like a real gem, though. Regardless of whether or not you miss the eclipse, I'd suggest you look for a better place to work.

skip it and watch the eclipse.
my boss wanted me to stay longer at work today but i just said no and left because i was going to dinner with my mom.

is whatever trouble you'll get into really worth missing this event?

Your boss is a prick. Find another job.

I requested the day off a few weeks in advance.

I thought it was cool, my first eclipse. I watched some of the live streams too, they captured the beauty just as well.

One thing I remember about it is how bright the ring was.

she sounds like a control freak to me. does she have curtains in her office ? it might be better if she was retired from her job due to unforeseen circumstances. like a death in her family , i was thinking her death.

I don't know where it will be visible from but there will be another solar eclipse in 2024 I believe.

I wouldn't advise quitting unless you're in a position to maybe be okay while searching for employment but I would definitely be trying to find another job, that sounds like a terrible work environment.
