  • Don't know where you live, but this issue is sorta bubbling under here in the UK, since you're not the first guy to point out that corporate dress codes like this are discriminatory.

Sensible organisations which don't view their employees as little more than waged slaves relax their dress codes during extreme weather. Unfortunately, it sounds like you work for a bunch of dicks.

    • IF the weather is extreme. But if it's just a little bit hot then no. It's not really discriminatory, just culture thing. And I'd say, it depends what kind of shorts he wore. If the dress code tells to look well dressed then he can try to look for fancy shorts or something maybe. Nowadays such things do exist. I'm pretty sure that his co-workers are not dressed in just random shorts and skirts but rather the ones that are made for office style.
And idk how it's in UK but boss might have all the rights to choose what he/she wants to see in their office. For something like this I'd rather dress as she wants than get fired

      • If the weather is really that hot you can maybe argue for the right to wear shorts I think. Piont it out as a health violation and state its hurting your health.
