A rather large, poisonous and aggressive spider would of course be cause for concern. Perhaps a smaller, more poisonous spider might be cause for even more concern. However, just average, run of the mill, non-poisonous house spiders don't really bother me at all.
I don't have a strong emotional connection with spiders. But they are clean helpful bugs that eat nasty insects and make the ecosystem balanced. I make every effort to catch spiders in my house alive so that I can move them outside. If it's way below freezing, they go in the basement.
