When I was a little girl there was a furry, little, black spider who lived in the frame of my canopy bed. I never bothered him, and he never bothered me, for all practical purposes we were pals.
I don't mind spiders that much but you're telling me you wouldn't be even a little bothered if a real gnarly looking one was just hangin' out in your room? For me seeing a spider is nothing, it only becomes a problem when it disappears and it's in my room.
A rather large, poisonous and aggressive spider would of course be cause for concern. Perhaps a smaller, more poisonous spider might be cause for even more concern. However, just average, run of the mill, non-poisonous house spiders don't really bother me at all.
I don't have a strong emotional connection with spiders. But they are clean helpful bugs that eat nasty insects and make the ecosystem balanced. I make every effort to catch spiders in my house alive so that I can move them outside. If it's way below freezing, they go in the basement.
Boring fact about you

Me neither... I don't get what people are afraid of. Spiders just want to be left alone.
