If you look at the world of HP you will see that you are not the only one. Best example I can think of is. Go to youtube. Watch the reactions of people first getting sorted on the site Pottermore. They are either overjoyed in being sorted into the house they have lived in ever since the books came out and they were whisked off to the magical school or look at them literlly brake down and cry as they see their lived end with a different house. I myself will have this odd history with the HP series even though their just books, I litterlly used them as a home away from home when ever i needed to escape reality. So much That sometimes i would take reality to be fake and Hogwarts to be real.
Your normal, this is normal. Dont worry and keep reading about fantastical adventures. And if you really like reading so much and from what you said is true. Try your had at wrighting a story yourself. You never know you could become a great Novelist someday :D
