Birthmark on my face!

I have a birthmark the size of a quarter on the left side of my chin. i always get stares and people snicker behind my back. does a facial birthmark that big make me unattractive?

Is It Normal?

  • Those people are assholes!!! I hope they get what they deserve. A birthmark on your face certainly does not make a person unattractive. Everyone is different. The people who are laughing at you probably have problems of theur own, but think by laughing at others they will feel better. Well their day is coming. Just remember, you're not ugly, and those who matter certainly won't make fun of you.

  • i have a birthmark on my face!
its one of those little bumpy yellow ones. it's about an inch long, kind of on my nose right near my eye. in fact, a little bit of it is on my bottom eyelid, going into my eye.
be proud of it. it's a unique part of you, and no-one else has it.

  • babe, it's fine, if they're laughing at your birthmark it's their problem. i have a vascular birthmark covering one third of the right side of my face. i see people staring at me all the time, i just stare back.

  • I'm not going to lie- it sounds pretty hideous. If it bothers you that much you can probobly get it removed. Insurance will usally pay for part of it and it is generally a pretty easy and painless procedure.

  • I think it depends on whether you are a man or a woman.

I have a large birthmark on my forehead, but it's quite faint, and barely noticeable. You have to look very carefully to see it. Nevertheless, I have gotten comments on it, over the years. But, because I'm male, I don't think this has caused my any significant problems.

If you are a woman, however, such a birthmark can make you LESS attractive, as men are much more visual than women. It can hurt if someone snickers or laughs at you, because of the birthmark. And yes, this is quite rude. But, look at it this way: At least they are giving you honest feedback--a window into their mind. I would suggest wearing makeup to disguise it. Another option might be laser surgery.
