The only problem here is that you've been brought up to believe that it's wrong to be anything other than 100%% straight. So what if you have feelings for your male friend? Why is that such a bad thing? The ancient Greeks used to love a bit of man-on-man action. It didn't make them any less manly.
Now as to whether you should do anything about it, I wouldn't like to say. There's a chance that telling him how you feel would ruin your friendship. It depends how understanding he is, and how close you are to each other.
