Bf hanging with friends instead of me on the 4th?

I asked my boyfriend today what he wanted to do for the Fourth of July. He said I don’t know I might hang out with my friends. I replied with what? And he said yeah.
that got me mad. he knows how important holidays are to me and he knows that I would want to hang out with them on the Fourth of July. we start arguing about this. i ask if i can come hangout and he says no because we’ve been fighting lately and it would be awkward for his friends bc they know all the drama. I ask if I can hang in his apartment for when he gets back and he says no. He then tells me to leave his apartment and I leave. 15 minutes later I got a call from him I don’t answer and I get text messages from him and I don’t respond. He then calls again and I answer and he apologizes. I tell him I’m not gonna sit around and not do anything on Fourth of July I will find someone to hang out with. He then asks what do you mean you’ll find someone and I say I’m gonna find someone I’m not sitting around. He then goes on to say I don’t really know what I’m gonna do will figure it out later but you can spend the night I just want to see my friends. And then he. he then tells me to leave his apartment and I leave. 15 minutes later I got a call from him I don’t answer and I get text messages from him and I don’t respond. He then called again and I answer and he apologizes. I tell him I’m not gonna sit around and not do anything on Fourth of July I will find someone to hang out with. He then asks what do you mean you’ll find someone and I say I’m going to find someone I’m not sitting around. Then goes on to say I don’t really know what I’m gonna do will figure it out later but you can spend the night I just want to see my friends. And then he tells me that he wants me to come back to his apartment and I do.
what do you think about this? is it fucked up for a boyfriend I don’t want to hang out with his girlfriend on the Fourth of July? do I have a right to be mad or upset about this? he was mad i reacted that way. i bet he said that i could stay at his apartment when he’s gone so he knows i’m not hanging with another guy.... idk. what do y’all think
