I get this. My boyfriend gets too busy with work to even notice his room. When I spent the night last and he was at work, I picked up a little bit for him-- not so he feels that he's a slob and it needs to be done, but because I want him to feel appreciated. I love my boyfriend, don't get me wrong, but his place is really messy. He said I was the reason why he has any motivation to clean. Every since I picked up his room, he cleans it almost daily, which is huge.

As for you, maybe he doesn't know any better?

that sounds like my house lol! i honestly thought u were my girlfriend talking about me..what helped me was HER bcuz i didnt care one bit about my horribly disgusting house (a mental illness perahps?) until she came around and bascially forced me to clean up or else she would leave me. he obviously doesnt care one bit about it, you havew to make him clean up and if he still doesnt wanna do it, or forces you to do all the work then you have to find someone else

Leave his ass 🙄 he’s lazy and will likely stick to his ways. He’s basically saying that he doesn’t have to make an effort with you - and you’re showing him that you’ll put up with it. When you imagine your future; is it that?

    • if him and i had a house together i would not let it stay like that.
p.s: he also tells me that i need and should clean his apartment because i stay half of the week there

yeah I wouldn't date him. You do you but it's understandable to feel this way. Living in such an environment is stressful and unhealthy. I personally would ask him to get his act together and sort it out. I would't want to be with a lazy sob who can't take care of himself. Please take care. Peace.

    • do you think any girl would put up with that? coming from a 28 year old who lives off his moms money, doesn’t have a job and is still in school

So then quit going over to his pigsty. If a guy is a disgusting slob I don't go over to his place more than once, or twice.

I didn't say any of that. I think you are projecting your stuff onto me.

I don't think he'll clean that mess as long as he can manipulate someone else into doing it for him. He seems like the type who expects everyone else in put up with him, and take care of him. He's very immature, and selfish for his age.

You, on the other hand strike me as very jealous, insecure and obsessive. I think some of this is your personality, but I also think that his behavior makes it worse.

Is this guy your first relationship?

Your boyfriend sounds like a lazy, useless, burden. Dump him. He doesn't deserve to have anybody until he stops being that way.

Since he's useless, dump him. No one has time to be babysitting useless trash. XD

Dump his nasty, dirty ass, chica! It's his apartment, and his responsibility to keep it clean. If he can't keep it clean for you then he's a very poor host, not a good boyfriend, and certainly not husband material! If you are not on the lease, and only come over on the weekends then it's his job to clean the apartment, not yours. A girlfriend is not a free maid, girl, damn!

If I were you I would dump his nasty, dirty, filthy ass, or at least spend significantly less time over there. I'm not a genius, but I'm smart enough to know that I ain't doing free work for a pig.

We train people how to treat us, and people will only treat us as bad as we allow them to do so!
