  • I had a GF dump me because I drove diagonally across an empty parking lot - instead of following the designated drive lanes.

A total nono for her for anyone to drive across designated parking slots even in an empty parking lot.

I wonder if she still lives by that rule?...

    • As someone who hates it when people drive diagonally across an occupied lot, I wouldn't see an issue with it if it was empty and think dumping someone over it is a massive overreaction.

The problems I have with cutting across the lot are when there are people trying to get to their cars, cars driving around, and when the people cutting across the lot are also speeding and would not be able to stop if they met a person or another car (I actually saw a wreck happen in a parking lot because of this). I'm not sure how many times I've almost been hit, both in my car and on foot, because someone went flying across the lot and was paying zero attention to where they were going (and it's been mostly at Wal-Mart, go figure). They also acted like it was my fault, lol. But an empty lot? There's no danger.
