I have a gay friend that came out recently and a few people were shocked but then were fine with it. Then there was that one person that had to say "You're gay? That's not normal. Can you cure it?"
What the fuck is wrong with people.
Is people like this normal?
Unfortunately, yes, some people still think it's not normal. It may be more normal in the western world, but in other parts of the country it is still seen as something horrible.
Gayness is fine. But it's not normal. 9 out of 10 men aren't gay (or say they aren't). It's fine to be gay and I guess 1 out of 10 is pretty common. But it's not part of the normal (average) majority. Again, it's fine. No need to change (couldn't if you wanted to), it's natural from birth. Not normal in the sense of most common.
In the western world, technically it isn't normal. It may be becoming more and more noticeable due to the media and Liberalism. Despite this, not everyone supports it and not everyone is educated on it. The idea that you can cure it, turn it off and on, (etc.) are logic that get attached onto anything that deviates from the norm. The norm being traditional marriage, in the case of sexuality.
Ignorance is common. In fact, some of my older relatives actually think that homosexuality is a handicap.
Well it's common and 100% ok, but not normal as the normal thing for a creature is to reproduce before death. That's why the sex drive is the strongest drive a human has, because that's the base point of existence. So they are not normal in that respect but there's certainly no need to change them as there are many straight people to support the human race.
I agree with this. Some scientists reason that the reason there is homosexuality in nature is an attempt to prevent overpopulation or to curb males with feminine traits from breeding. Also there is the "gay uncle" theory which states that non reproducing males could help raise young like a grandparent does.

While normal or not if its not rape, molestation and between two consenting adults who cares? Let people be what they are and leave them alone.
Sex is used to procreate it feels good so people will do it.
However people seem to have a second function filtering the sexual urge and some will seem to filter it to the same sex. Does this do anything for procreation? No, but at this point of overpopulation in multiple countries do we really need to encourage people to have more babies?
No we probably don't. So normal or not if its not hurting anyone who really cares? Though I will also say I find it equally annoying when gay people try to say EVERYONE IS GAY to try to make themselves feel better. No we are not all like you. You might feel bad about being gay but that does not give you the right to dictate our sexuality like we cant dictate yours.
Everyone is different, everyone has different styles, not everyone fits the perfect mold of NORMAL behavior. Guess what though? Normal is not always best. Most eccentric people are interesting as hell but guess what? They are not normal. So tell them to say next time "Yeah well your boring as hell so take your label and get out of my presence you uncreative person. You have nothing special distinguishing from the rest of society and so your worth a dime a dozen."
If someone is murdering people, hiding dead bodies, molesting and raping people, and torturing animals for the hell of it YES that is not normal and YES that is dangerous.
Just because something falls under the label of ABNORMAL though does not mean its always something we need to worry about. That goth person dresses in all black in summer. Yes its weird but it does not mean they are going on a killing spree. Now it might give this poor person heatstroke but its not like worth a Jeffrey dahmer panic alert.
Yes, it is normal, most people think being gay is wrong. But that doesn't make it right. Gay people have the right to be gay, and they can't change themselves, so people should just accept that and move on with their lives.
Homo behavior goes against nature and is not normal. Normal is opposite sex behavior. Sorry to be the bearer of the truth

The people here declaring something is not normal because less than 50% of people do it need a dictionary. The germane definition here is the biological one: free from any disease or of natural occurrence. Homosexuality is a natural and normal thing in every way, it is a genetic trait. Your friend does not understand, and offered pseudoscience in ignorance. The ignorance of science is unfortunately quite common, and can only be disinfected with the ebullience of science piercing the darkest recesses of vestigial nonsense.
