I'd consider him to be a pretty thoughtless creature, especially if you reminded him several times.
I forgot my wife's birthday this year, but I have a bit of an excuse; I rarely know what day of the week it is, even more rarely what day of the month and sometimes not even the month. I once put the wrong month on the clearance forms when leaving a country and after clearing in at the next country, realized that both sets of customs and immigration officials failed to notice my mistake! Ah, life in the slow lane!
