I am wondering why a woman might prefer to be a "wife" as opposed to a "partner" or "girlfriend."
I have been in all these roles and to be honest, have not felt any difference. That's why I am interested in what others have to say. I'd like to know if there's something I've missed in it all!
I am considering becoming single again (for me that means no relationship, no dates, no sex, no companionship etc).
Ah, okay. I think it's normal to not feel much difference even after you're married. A long term relationship is a serious commitment whether you're married or not, so practically getting married might not change anything. It's got more symbolic value than tangible value.
Being single can be a wonderful gift, and you should only sacrifice it for a relationship that makes you very happy.
