Yes it's normal and this should be a red flag to Catholics that they are doing something wrong! They are forcing their beliefs too strong on people and half of it is totally wrong! I am a Christian and have no doubt in my mind that there is a God and His story is true! And I strongly believe that being forced into something will only make you reject it more! I was allowed to come into my own beliefs in my own time and have come to realize, that it's not Got that people reject... It's the religion! I'm here to tell you that you don't need to conform or be a church robot for salvation. The bible clearly states that God wants those who choose to follow him, not those who are forced! So decide for yourself!
Read this non-fiction book written by a former, once avid atheist called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. This man knew nothing of Christ and strongly rejected religion... He then took the initiative to prove it to himself through science! It's a good read and totally worth reading for such a heavy decision.
