Be clingy

Look I need help.
Iv been in care all my life havnt been shown much love no parents, and the first bit of love or affection I get from someone,
I just get emotionally attached and kinda clingy.
I don’t want to it’s just come so hard not to.
I want to detach myself from someone and show them that I’ve matured and grown up how do I detach myself ?
I don’t want to be clingy.
Any advice would be great.

Some counselling to deal with your self esteem issues would be a good idea if you can do that.

Google how to reparent yourself, and self care. You have to learn how to love, and nurture yourself, my dear.

Expecting no mean comments was your first mistake. To be truly mature you need to expect people are not always kind or agreeable.

On that your original post if someone texts you wait 2-4 hours to respond. Gives them the impression that the world doesnt revolve around them so they need to use thier time more sparingly around you. Decline more offers to go out, that increases your chances that you will go out in a later date, with the added bonus yet again reinforcing you have your own life to live.

Respect their space, and demonstrate your independence.

Understand that others don't want to talk to you / hang out with you all the time, and don't expect them to or think they hate you if they choose not to spend time with you constantly. Don't purposely exclude others just for the sake of "not being clingy", but show that you are independent by doing things by yourself or with other friends, and practice self-sufficiency by not asking for help and attention excessively (obviously, you can still ask for help, just not all the time).

Part of looking mature is not trying too hard to look mature.
