No ones asking to be put on a pedestal. The problem isn’t that people believe in their magical sky daddy it’s that they want to often force others to believe it. That’s what atheist have a problem with and speak out against. Atheist should be louder because of the fact that people are prejudice against us. We are still looked at as immoral by definition simply because we are atheist. We have kids that come out as atheist to their parents and become homeless as a result or worse. I can respect the person but I won’t respect the belief. Religion doesn’t define intelligence? Tell that to the studies that show that people who believe are less intelligent than those that don’t. People who have insanely stupid beliefs should be mocked you and your mom or friends are not above being mocked for stupid beliefs just like atheist shouldn’t be above that atheist aren’t asking for special treatment
