Personally I've always told my wife to let me be a veggie and not to pull the plug. Im scared ppl who are veggies are stuck and theyre conscious however they can not respond.
Brain scan should be done to detect brain activity, then again brain activity could suggest they are trapped in their mind, or it could be heaven, or they are in a constant dreaming state.
Also if the person has been deaf and blind and paralysed their whole life, the person in that head is not a human because they haven't lived in our world.
It would be kinder to just assume that once a person cannot survive that they aren't meant to...

Some people even have reported conversations the doctors had with their family right infront of them. I remember one case where he said he heard his family discussing whether they should pull the plug or not.
