18, However an allowance should be given only if chores are done, I myself never had an allowance. I did do chores but never got anything, I didn't expect it! Sometimes my dad would slip me a sly 10 here or 20 there (sterling that is) but 18 is when you get into further ed and should be looking to get a job apprenticeship or go to uni! Parents will always look after you but at 18+ they shouldn't need to give you money! They may help you out with things or give you a few bob here and there for no apparent reason, but they shouldn't be giving you money every week month etc for an allowance!
