At what age is too old for an allowance?

    What age did you get an allowance? Most people I knew did not get one till age 14.

      I didn't get an allowance. My family didn't have money, really. I cooked, cleaned, and took care of my brother- my payment was the roof over my head and a bed to sleep in.

      That previous comment is just how I would raise a kid if I had one.
