I'm an aspie, and I was quite similar at both younger ages in college ages. I figured that I didn't relate well to people my age as a kid because my dad was over the top as to how people were to be treated. (And would force maturity on me to the point of sodomizing me with it.) Now I think being an aspie also had have played a part.
I can also relate to the college situation. I remember the short time I was in, I felt a sense of intimidation whenever other people would express kindness to me. Sometimes I still do, unless I'm out at the clubs, then I unexpectedly become more receptive to social contact.
Hopefully you have all the good things associated with Asperger's. (Namely, gifts in art, music, science, and technology.)
