Asking someone out via fb?

There's this girl I like. We recently split schools so there's no way I can verbally contact her. My only form of contact is facebook. I plan to ask her out on facebook, if she says no I'll tell her a week later "Sorry my account was hacked." If she says ye then YAY! Is this normal/acceptable/Ok? And please answer and help.

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • She'll know for sure it was you don't say your account was hacked... Why would a hacker ask a girl out?

    • The hacker would wanna make me look bad. Of course, I'd also post a status like "I'm a fat retard" to help the cover-up.

    • Hackers may want to make the hackee look bad in a pure evil spree.

  • "tell her my account was hacked" Grow a pair for gods sake man.

  • Just ask her out... it's as simple as that. There is no need to make anything up. :\

If she says no, move on.

  • From what I've been told, girls appreciate being asked out in person a hell of a lot more than via the internet. I'm sure you can find a way to meet up with her IRL and ask. If not, at the very least Skype her :P

  • I'm a girl, and if someone asked me out via FB I'd refuse.
Most girls I know prefer the face to face approach. We like a guy who has balls!
Don't go the stupid route and claim your account got hacked if she refuses. She'll see right through it then bam goes your dignity, and you won't get another date until you are 35 (if your lucky)
So go and ask her face to face and keep you dignity intact.

  • You are supposed to be 18 to be here. Just saying because this is not a very adult question, which nevertheless others have answered.

  • Man up and ask her in person I this starting or ending relationship over txt or fb or anything like that is just not right! Iv been dumped over txt before and I was more mad about that then the fact that I just got dumped so do yourself a favor and ask in person!

  • Wow, as a fellow guy I'm gonna have to take away your man card till you forget the fake account hacking, that's just bad.

As far as not being able to see her, what is the point of a relationship if you aren't able to see or talk to the other person?

  • I just have to say. You know if this topic was made by a girl, I bet the percentage would of been higher.

  • Asking her out on Facebook during this technology age is ok. However, the hacking excuse is pathetic.

  • Just ask her to meet you at the mall or something online, but ask for the date in person

  • Well, sounds like a plan.

  • people, do that all the time. especially now with all of the computers and dating sites and what not, i have had a girls ask me out through cyber means. its not that bad

  • just NO

Being asked out on facebook looks like a joke. She's obviously going to refuse.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • No, no, no, no,NO. Just ask her to met up with you and ask then. Asking out over Facebook or text is impersonal, unromantic and lazy.

  • Saying your account was hacked would be very obvious, and in my opinion, very stupid as well.
